Mad-Ad competition 2016/17
What do you do when advertisement comes while you are watching television?
- You switch to next channel if you don’t like the advertisement
- You switch to next channel if the advertisement is repetitive
- You let it play on if the advertisement is new
- You let it play on if advertisement is repetitive but very impressive
5th of February, 2017, something interesting went in the Mad-Ad competition. Almost 30 students from different trimester participated in the program. The program was organized by Uniglobe College under the Management Fest program 2016/17.
In the event students initially write the script of the advertisement and present the advertisement through their acting. Different product ideas like shampoo, Nepalese Shoe, Height increaser, white board, electric cigarette and so on.
Cham Cham Shampoo group presented their idea by customer pain with humorous touch. At the same time, they were also able to showcase the actual target audience. Similarly, Roll Star group presented on the Nepali product – Gold Star shoe, targeting the youth segment and presenting the product features. Electric Cigarette was presented in awareness and informative manner while Lotus White Board went to have the innovative advertisement strategy.
In the program the chief judge was Mr. Suman Gorkhali, having being experienced in the field of advertisement and marketing for a long time he had gained the vivid knowledge in the particular sector. Similarly, the other judge was Mr. Mohan H. Dahal who is IT administrator of Uniglobe College and has been in designing the advertisement and prior working experience in the field of press and media.
Students were evaluated on the basis of the creativity (Unique and Retainable idea), Brand Focus, execution (presentation) and attitude transformation. At the end of the program, Mr. Gorkhali highlighted on the necessary improvement in the advertisement that students acted.
The winner of the competition were Cham Cham Shampoo comprised of Jyoti Khadka, Aastha Dahal, Anisha Baral as group members. The first runner-up of the competition was Roll Star – Ganesh Chhetri, Manish Acharya, Nitesh Raj Shakya & Prerana Bhatta while second runner-up was Himalayan Height Increaser – Chhokpa Sherpa, Sriya Dhital, Prakash Pandey, Barsha Shrestha and Pramila Nepal.
